ORLANDO(June 30, 2021) ”AmySweezey, former WESH-Channel 2 meteorologist, who was namedBroadcaster of the Yearby the National Weather Association, will hit the airwaves this weekend ” the first time since leaving Channel 2 last year.Sweezey, who has been serving as a specialprojectsproducer atGrowing Bolder, will be one of the co-hosts of“What’s Next,”a new commercial TV program from Growing Bolder that will air on WESH-Channel 2 and other broadcasting stations across Florida.

Sweezey, a veteran journalist who was a popular fixture on the Central Florida TV scene for nearly 20 years, has been honored with numerous awards, including Best Weather Reporting by the Florida Associated Press. She is the author of two children’s booksand alsocreated two weather workbooks for students. She has over 67,000 social media followers.

Prior to joining WESH-Channel 2,Sweezeywas a broadcast meteorologist at WWMT-Channel 3 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She graduated from Loyola University Chicago and received a certificate in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University.
