ORLANDO (Nov. 5, 2020) ” Jackie Carlin, former senior news editor at WESH-TV and one-time field producer at ABC News in Washington, D.C., was recently named executive vice president at Growing Bolder, one of the nation’s leaders in active lifestyle content production.

While at ABC News, Carlin covered the historic 2000 presidential election and 9/11 terror attacks. She produced the first network-produced, daily live online show and produced daily online and radio shows for legendary journalist Sam Donaldson.

Prior to joining Growing Bolder at its founding in 2007, Emmy-nominated Carlin worked with Growing Bolder CEO Marc Middleton at WESH-TV, where she managed the station’s web coverage of key events, including the 2004 hurricanes. She also covered the Winter Olympics for NBC’s website in 2006.

At Growing Bolder’s Orlando headquarters, Carlin oversees the editorial and production teams producing Growing Bolder TV, Growing Bolder Radio and “Growing Bolder” magazine, in addition to the company’s social media, with a million followers. Growing Bolder’s Facebook page regularly outperforms other major networks.

“Growing Bolder provides the inspiration to people everywhere that it’s never too late to live a life of passion, purpose and new opportunities,” Carlin said. “We’ve assembled an incredible team of storytellers, which is one of the reasons Growing Bolder is the perfect vehicle to share that life-affirming message far and wide.”

Carlin has been nominated for three Emmy Awards for her work on the inspirational TV show “Growing Bolder’s Surviving & Thriving.” Her recent promotion is part of a strategic move to grow the company’s talent pool that includes award-winning journalists, graphic designers and social-media professionals. The fast-growing company recently moved to larger headquarters in Orlando and just launched an updated website: www.growingbolder.com.

CEO Marc Middleton said, “Jackie could lead any newsroom in the country. She’s an outstanding journalist, a brilliant producer and a great leader. Her willingness to take on any task and her ability to successfully execute it is one of the reasons we’ve continued to grow.”

Under Carlin and Middleton’s guidance, the company has enjoyed phenomenal success, growing from a local radio broadcast to a broad-reaching, multi-media platform that includes a TV show reaching up to 85% of all U.S. households, a radio program on NPR affiliates and a popular podcast. The company’s newest initiative is the “Growing Bolder” magazine, the largest lifestyle publication in Florida with 150,000 subscribers.
